“I work to empower and inspire children in a supportive and caring environment, ensuring the learning process is fun and confidence-building.”

I began my early childhood education and care career in 2014 and started working at Community Kids Roxburgh Park in 2018. Since starting my career in child care, I have never looked back. Every day, I look forward to walking into the centre and being greeted by amazing smiles and warm hellos from the children. Working with children and helping the community is the greatest opportunity this role offers.

As an educator, I’ve learned the best way to teach our young ones is to let them explore and find their own way of learning. I work to empower and inspire children in a supportive and caring environment, ensuring the learning process is fun and confidence-building.

We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community, speaking languages like Arabic, Turkish, Bangla, Sindhi, Hindi, and Punjabi. Many have been with the centre for over nine years. We understand that starting at a new centre can be overwhelming. From the first enquiry, we ensure all your questions are addressed. Many of our team members have children of their own and have gone through the child care and early learning process. We proudly offer support wherever possible, helping families enrol, apply for the Child Care Subsidy, and provide tips for fussy eaters and toilet training.

Our team is here to help. We believe in maintaining respectful relationships based on open communication to encourage family engagement and build a strong sense of belonging.

I look forward to welcoming your family to our Roxburgh Park childcare centre.

Educational Leader

  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)
“I design learning spaces that encourage freedom, autonomy, and movement, ensuring children have opportunities to develop social-emotional skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence.”

I have over a decade of experience as an Early Childhood Teacher and 10 years as an Educational Leader. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environment, where children feel empowered to explore, take risks, and become independent, lifelong learners.

I believe that all children are capable learners, and my role as an educator is to provide the right environment and support to help them thrive. I design learning spaces that encourage freedom, autonomy, and movement, ensuring children have opportunities to develop social-emotional skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in their own capabilities. Understanding that every child learns differently, I apply varied teaching strategies such as scaffolding, modelling, and facilitating to accommodate individual needs and learning styles.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is teaching children about body safety, boundaries, and consent in a respectful and age-appropriate way. I take pride in working alongside families to foster a consistent approach between home and school, helping children feel secure and supported in their development. Being part of the early childhood sector has been a transformative, rewarding, and joyful experience, and I feel privileged to play a role in shaping young children’s learning and growth every day.

“My teaching philosophy is centered on play-based learning, where children are encouraged to explore, create, and develop foundational skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment. “

I am a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher with over a decade of experience in early childhood education. I hold a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from New Zealand Tertiary College and am a fully registered teacher.

My teaching philosophy is centered on play-based learning, where children are encouraged to explore, create, and develop foundational skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment. I strongly believe that every child is a capable and competent learner, and I aim to provide engaging, hands-on experiences that support their independence, critical thinking, and social-emotional development. My approach focuses on fostering curiosity and confidence, allowing children to take ownership of their learning while feeling safe, valued, and supported.

Our innovative early learning programs

Sustainability

Our engaging sustainability program helps children understand the importance of embedding sustainable practices into everyday life, including recycling, conserving water, and growing food. Children love maintaining our veggie gardens and learning to water and care for the plants.

Children and educators enjoy community walks and excursions to the nearby park. Our 3 and 4-year-old rooms go on nature walks every Thursday. We also regularly welcome special guests, such as librarians and emergency services. Our centre celebrates all multicultural events, with EID and Diwali being the biggest celebrations.

Music and movement

Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

STEM

We encourage your child to ask questions, experiment, and problem-solve, all while engaging their natural curiosity. By fostering this inquisitive mindset, we help them develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Our Family Support Team will add your child’s name to our waitlist if one of our childcare centres is currently full in your child’s age group. We will then contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

We also do monthly check-ins to review availability, and you will receive a text message confirming whether you’re still happy to remain on the waitlist each month. If you would like an update at any point, you’re welcome to reach out on our Web Chat or give us a call.

Our Family Support Team can also help you find more G8 early learning centres near you, with the same offerings at the Community Kids centre you are interested in that have immediate availability.

It’s common for a child to experience separation anxiety when they first start child care. When you’re getting ready to start child care, you can help your child overcome anxieties by visiting the child care service together for a Stay and Play session, and easing into new routines at home.

Read more tips about how to make the transition easier for your child.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Community Kids uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Community Kids is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
